11/19/15 Pt.2

After School:

After school I had to head back to the other building for basketball practice. I made the freshman high school team. Tryouts were a while back. As for how good I am, I'm not terrible at the sport but I certainly am not the best on the team by a mile... or two. Anyway,  previous to this practice I had not been there for almost four practices and missed pictures. So, yah, I got a lot of crap for not being there. Of which I partially deserved. But that morning I got my stuff right before school so trying it on and breaking in the shoes they gives up was really fun and nice. As punishment for bad communication about missing the first two practices and pictures I had to sit out on the scrimmaging drills most of the time The only times I got to play during that type of drill is when coach wanted to talk with one of the player or someone got tired. At the end we had to do shorts. Shorts is an exercise where we have to run across the court a certain amount of times in a short amount of time. So that was "fun".

After basketball practice I had to again walk back to the other building and wait for the play I helped with to start. In the play I am part of the deck crew and the tail of the dragon. Being part of the deck crew is fun but the dragon tail is hilarious and stupid and a piece of crap. It's embarrassing and a pain. So the play was really rough because it our first time doing it in front of a crowd and a few things went wrong. The first thing was that instead of a blue out (meaning instead of the stage going completely dark, it just goes to a dark blue lighting) we accidentally went to a black out and couldn't see the spikes so we missed our mark by about a foot. Which is a lot in when we're moving wagons and set pieces. The reason that happened is because there was a small power outage the night before and so the LEDs weren't prepped to be used which they fixed halfway through the first act. The other thing that went wrong is when we changed to the red spikes, I moved the C wagon to the correct spikes and then one of the crew from the other side moved it and the screen fly that was brought in hit the end which is where it had to stay until the next scene change. After those two mistakes we pulled it together and got through the rest of the show. And then I went home, did some homework while watching Markiplier, and went to bed.

Until next time Flies!
